Iris Vineyards Portfolio

Iris Vineyards wines are all hand crafted from grapes grown in our Chalice Vineyard located in the foothills of the Coastal Range, south of Eugene, Oregon. We also utilize grapes purchased from a few carefully selected Oregon vineyards known for growing wine grapes of exceptional quality.

Our goal is to capture the finest elements of the grapes by gentle handling, skillful artisan processing, and patiently waiting until the wines are truly ready to enjoy before their release. Our wines are unique expressions of the vineyards from which they come; caressed by the winemaker’s art into distinctive creations we hope will bring pleasure to all who drink them.

2006 Oregon Pinot Noir

The deep dark color portends the ripe black cherry, and blackberry aromas to come. On the palate this Pinot Noir is ripe and jammy with intense ripe berry flavors, sweet oak spice and excellent concentration. The ripe finish is long and very smooth.

2006 Oregon Pinot Noir Reserve

Very deep and dark in color with rich aromas of ripe black cherry and cassis with hints of sweet, smoky oak. On the palate this Pinot Noir bursts with mouth watering, ripe berry flavors framed by subtle sweet oak spice and has outstanding concentration. The acid balance is excellent and the tannins are fine and soft. The ripe black fruit finish is long and velvet smooth.

2006 Oregon Pinot Noir Areté

The wine is showing well. It is bottle aging in our cellar until it reaches the rigid expectations of our winemaker and staff. We're anticipating a 2010 release date.

2007 Oregon Pinot Gris

Beautiful aromas of orange blossoms and jasmine are accented by hints of figs and pears. On the palate this medium bodied wine bursts with tropical flavors of papaya, banana and mango, with a dash of nectarine. The bright lively mouth feel follows through to a clean tropical fruit and citrus finish.

2006 Oregon Chardonnay

Beautiful ripe aromas of white peach and pear, laced with honey and butterscotch follow through on the palate with creamy layers of fruit with hints of sweet oak spice and lively acidity. An elegant Chardonnay with good complexity and classic style, that finishes with a hint of peach cobbler.

2006 Oregon Chardonnay Barrel Free

Aromas of pineapple, citrus and apples hint at the delicious tropical notes and mild buttery flavors that are pleasantly accompanied by a bold streak of minerality. This wine rests beautifully on the palate as the character of the malolactic fermentation is balanced by the natural acidity. The finish is clean and crisp.

2007 Oregon Pinot Noir

The color is a beautiful deep garnet, and the nose bursts with aromas of black cherries and cola nut, with hints of sassafras, black pepper, and clove. In the mouth this medium bodied wine displays tempting flavors of plum, cherry and red raspberry upon entry and those flavors are joined by well integrated sweet oak spice on the mid-palate. This wine has excellent acid balance and a long finish of cherry with a hint of sage.
